As you all know that IELTS listening Test Consist of 4 Sections. Multiple choice questions can appear in section 2 or in section 3.
There are 2 types of multiple choice question with three possible options and only one answer will be correct.
  1. 1 word / number questions

These Multiple choice Questions are really tricky and candidate will hear all the available options in the recording.
TIPS for listening Multiple Choice Questions
  • If you hear any hear any option doesn’t just blindly tick it as right answer.
  • You may find 2 to 4 speaker having conversation about any topic so be attentive
  • Encircle options you have heard already and make a symbol against your best option
  • You should look for paraphrasing and synonyms of the optins rather then expecting to hear exact math.
i). what is synonyms
  • Synonym is a word or phrase which has the same meaning of another word for example you can write regards on the place of respect.

  • Watch out for words like conjunctions like However, but and whereas which connect 1 or 2 options
Speaker will empathize more on the right option as compare to other answers so you must attentive and do not lose your focus at all otherwise it will be very hard to choose right answer
